What the box/packaging looks like?
It looks like a very posh, very stylish board game. Would sit quite respectably on your coffee table next to Radio Times and Trivial Pursuit without anyone guessing you were sexually deviant.
What it promises...
Nookii is 'the grown up game for playful couples' and has 'been designed to generate sexy fun'. Unlike normal board games where the it's all about beating people, 'Nookii is the fun and feisty game where everyone's a winner'. That's just the box. The instructions sound like they were written by middle aged virgin sex therapist with a penchant for Barbara Cartland... 'Nookii is a map of foreplay, a key to a door of possibilities and sensual interactions. IT works by suggestion, delivering diversity and humour. One of the key components of good sex is awareness and Nookii is a great way to enhance sensuality'.
What you get
The box contains six packs of cards; three for each player - each set is supposed to represent a different level of play. Set one is the 'Mmm' set, the second is 'Ooh' and the third is 'Aah'. You also get two dice (to determine the length of play for each card) a timer, a scarf (the cards dictate when and how to use it) and a Do Not Disturb sign to put on your door while you play.
Object of the game
According to the instructions, 'the object of the game is to enjoy the other player... and enjoy the object of your play' - whatever that means. But the object seems to be, basically, to get very hot and steamy, but with a time limit. you shoot your dice, set the timer to however many minutes specified on the dice, then pick up card and read it. Your partner then has to follow the instructions on the card in the specified time. For example, you might throw a Five, pick up and Ooh which says you should wear just your bra and panties (this is the woman's cards obviously) and then you have to say to your partner, "Lay me on my tummy and kneel down beside me. Stroke the back of my thighs, slowly working up to my bum". But you have to work fast. Because if the timer goes when you get to "the back of my thighs" you have to stop there. This can be quite frustrating.
Is it a good game?
Yes, if a little cheesy. But there's nothing wrong with a bit of cheese and it does get you quite horny, especially as you rarely have time to completing the instructions. By the time you get to the Aah cards, you're bursting at the seams. The cards are also full of good ideas, so while playing, you get to try new things. Take this Ahh card for example: "Take off all your clothes. Stroke my bottom in a swirling motion. Nibble my buttocks, pull my panties down and lick me in one motion from between my legs to the small of my back. Do it again. Turn me on my back. Softly tug t my pubic hair and nibble all around". And all in under seven minutes, please.
